CompeteFor

In line with the Mayor's Economic Recovery Action Plan to support SMEs, a number of new organisations are now using CompeteFor to find suppliers. This has resulted in an even broader range of CompeteFor contracts being advertised from the likes of Transport for London, Think London and other public and private sector buyers.

In this edition we profile these organisations and give businesses a heads up on new contracts that will be advertised in the coming months.

London Business Network Events

In February 2009 over 200 members of the UK's security industry gathered in the Capital for a London 2012 Security Briefing.

The event, organised by the London Business Network, provided a platform to update the Security sector on Olympic strategy and planning.  It also looked specifically at the opportunities for collaboration with business now and at Games time.

Supplier spotlight – Arc Theatre

Arc Theatre was commissioned by the Olympic Delivery Authority to develop and deliver an educational theatre programme for school children keeping themselves safe in and around the Olympic Park in Stratford.  The theatre company based in Barking have also applied for arts related funding for the Cultural Olympiad using CompeteFor.

London 2012 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced arts organisations or curator/producers to programme manage and deliver a number of high quality, strategic, artist-led, temporary commissions and participatory projects focused around the edges of the Olympic Park site in east London.
